Leading the fundraising and alumni relations activities for University of Toronto Scarborough, the Development & Alumni Relations Office (DARO) supports the campus and over 65,000 alumni. Your opportunity:

 

Under the general direction of the Director of Alumni Relations, the incumbent co-ordinates and executes a variety of functions and key events to enhance alumni affinity to UTSC. The incumbent will be primarily responsible for a number of programs, events and initiatives for an alumni base of 50,000+, including divisional outreach, alumni association activities, Spring Reunion, various UTSC alumni events, and coordination of UTSC regional events.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Fostering positive relationships with alumni
  • Promoting alumni engagement opportunities to academic units, graduating students, industry partners and alumni
  • Responding to requests from alumni regarding participation in volunteer activities
  • Coordinating the recruitment process of alumni volunteers
  • Tracking alumni participation in a range of volunteer activities
  • Conceptualizing, organizing and executing event activities, liaising with communications staff to coordinate marketing activities for events
  • Developing content for marketing and/or promotional materials
  • Overseeing tasks related to the production and dissemination of communications/marketing materials

 

Essential Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum four years' related experience in alumni relations.
  • Demonstrated experience with event coordination, working on both small and large scale events from conception to execution.
  • Demonstrated success in building collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders in relation to alumni event promotion or involvement.
  • Excellent (oral and written) communication skills and strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Advanced computer literacy and proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet development, desktop publishing, database management, and website management.
  • Ability to manage and motivate external volunteers; establish rapport with sponsors, volunteers, donors, faculty, and staff
  • Experience working with Arbor or a similar database management system.
  • Must have financial planning, budgeting and reporting skills
  • Ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgment, tact, diplomacy, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Must be able to multi-task and meet deadlines; and exercise accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience and advanced literacy with design related software.

  • Experience in marketing, developing marketing strategies, and promotional materials
  • Previous experience working in post-secondary or not for profit organization
