Your opportunity:

The Medical Radiation Sciences (MRS) Program is a collaborative degree/diploma programin Medical Radiation Sciences between the University of Toronto (U of T) and The Michener Institute for Education at UHN (Michener). The Program trains the next generation of radiological technologists, nuclear medicine and molecular imaging technologists, and radiation therapists by delivering a balanced curriculum comprised of didactic, simulation, and clinical learning activities across 40+ leading academic health sciences centres, hospitals and community affiliates throughout the province of Ontario.As the first-degree granting program for Medical Radiation Technologists in Canada, the Program has expanded and graduates approximately 120 students across the three training streams annually.

As the MRS Admissions & Recruitment Officer, you will lead the admissions review process by assessing admissions applications, analyzing data, and creating reports for decision making; this includes being on top of emerging recruitment trends. In addition, you will plan and develop post-secondary outreachinitiatives and facilitate student recruitment presentations. Your strong communication, organizational and critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and project management experience will be key to your success in this role.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Reviewing and assessing admissions applications, including analyzing, scoring, and ranking incoming applications
  • Advising potential applicants, students, parents and/or guidance counselors on admissions criteria and processes by probing and providing a range of options and possible consequences
  • Drafting appeals and cases for special consideration
  • Conducting detailed data analysis to inform recruitment strategies and plans and generating reports
  • Developing content for marketing and/or promotional materials and delivering student recruitment presentations
  • Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming
  • Keeping well informed on recruitment trends

 

Essential Qualifications:

 

 

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum four (4) years’ related student services experience in a post-secondary environment in recruitment or admissions
  • Solid understanding of undergraduate policies and procedures and admission requirements
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing, assessing and advising students on admissions, transfer credit andacademic requirements
  • Excellent analytical and interpretative skills with the ability to understand and apply a large amount of information and complex set of regulations and guidelines with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing data and preparing reports
  • Experience coordinating logistical details for events
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations at recruitment events and fairs
  • Experience fostering relationships with prospective and/or current students
  • Advanced proficiency with ROSI, MS Office Suite, survey tools and video conference platforms (Zoom, MS Teams)
  • Ability to learn new systems and to develop and maintain web-based information and applications
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities with conflicting deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), judgement, organizational and analytical skills
