Your opportunity:

Reporting to the Director, International Education Centre, the International Programs Administrator will advance the International Education Centre’s (IEC) mission, as an innovative, collaborative and globally significant leader in the internationalization of the student experience.

The International Programs Administrator provides administrative and logistical supportto the Centre’s programs, services and initiatives. The International Programs Administrator will achieve this by taking a holistic approach to student success acting as a knowledgeable point of contact for students, supporting the implementation of on and off campus programs, and supporting the administration of global initiatives.

The International Program Administrator will play a critical role in supporting and advancing the work of the IEC, in order to provide coordinated and meaningful support to international and globally-minded students at UTM.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming
  • Implementing plans andprocess improvements for program and service activities
  • Coordinating tasks for projects and other strategic initiatives with stakeholders
  • Probing for information from students with personal and/or academic difficulties and making appropriate referrals
  • Fostering cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts
  • Handling expenses for events
  • Training and coaching casual staff

 

Essential Qualifications:

 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum two years of experience working with diverse communities implementing meaningful and culturally aware programming, para-professional experience may be considered.
  • Strong experiential background in student transition; particularly, experience working with diverse communities and understanding international student transition issues.
  • Ability tointeract effectively with a wide variety of people at different levels of the University (students, staff and faculty) and with external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing plans and process improvements for project activities.
  • Excellent administrative skills, including word processing, data analysis, desktop publishing and experience with databases and systems (ROSI, CLNx, eRez, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a busy office environment with interruptions.
  • Proven abilities in financial management & budgeting.
