Your opportunity:
The Office of Communications is the proactive voice of the University of Toronto Mississauga. It leads all broad-based marketing initiatives for U of T Mississauga, including branding, visual identity standards and advertising. Working collaboratively and strategically with academic and administrative units across the campus as well as with our community partners and media, we enhance understanding and support of U of T Mississauga in our region, nationally and internationally.
The Office of Communications seeks a dynamic, innovative marketing expert who is proficient in managing integrated omni-channel campaigns across traditional and digital channels, and has demonstrated success in project management, market research, marketing creative, media planning and vendor relationships. Reporting to the Director, Marketing & Communications, this individual will be responsible for the development, implementation, design and evaluation of marketing strategies to support and promote the office’s strategic objectives. Working with internal and external stakeholders, the individual will deliver on integrated marketing communication plans, ensuring consistency with project timelines and approved strategy plans for integration across all messaging platforms.
The successful candidate will possess excellent project management skills to develop detailed plans, work backs and presentations, with experience managing the creative development and production processes for marketing and communications materials across a range of media, including print, digital, outdoor, swag, video and animation, and in other applications such as events.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing a comprehensive and integrated marketing strategy
- Developing and implementing marketing plans that support strategic objectives, working with external partners, including media vendors, assessing media plans and trafficking paid campaign creative assets
- Advising on marketing best practices and brand-building opportunities
- Analyzing market data to determine trends and effectiveness of plans, monitoring and optimizing performance, ongoing ROI as well as preparing comprehensive post-campaign performance reports
- Conceptualizing and overseeing the format and set-up of focus groups
- Overseeing the production of promotional and marketing materials
- Producing promotional and outreach materials
- Developing charter, scope and timelines for projects, assessing resources.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, and/or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in integrated marketing.
- At least three (3) years working at an agency or consulting firm is preferred.
- Experience in successfully operating within a complex, multi-tiered organization with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of marketing and brand management with experience in its application and providing guidance.
- Proven track record of enhancing, fostering and managing strong relationships both internal and external to the institution with a natural ability to collaborate with diverse groups.
- Strong communication skills utilizing strong listening skills and a logical, systematic approach to assimilating and sharing information in all areas.
- Superb oral, presentation and written communication skills
- High degree of professionalism, political acuity, tact and judgment
- Excellent project management skills
Assets (Nonessential):
- Knowledge of the University of Toronto or other university environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, Microsoft PowerPoint

USW Pay Band 15 -- $95,627. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $122,290. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
