The Institute for Management and Innovation’s Business Minor program has the following Sessional Instructional Assistant position available for the Fall term and invites applications from suitably qualified candidates who are not current University of Toronto students. Description of course: Businesses typically want to grow and compete. Science oriented businesses rely on innovation, protected by intellectual property rights and patents, to gain and sustain competitive advantage. Entrepreneurial science-based start-up ventures especially need a strong intellectual foundation, and they need to raise capital. This course is designed to familiarize students with essential concepts in economics and strategy.
Position description: a) Grading quizzes, tests, assignments & exams. b) Meet with or respond to students’ inquiries during office hours. c) Invigilate quizzes, tests & exams. d) Update material and grades on Quercus courseware. e) Attend weekly lecture and/or review lecture material. f) Other duties as required
Minimum qualifications: Preferably a PhD or Masters student with a background in Strategic Management and some knowledge of Economics. Ideally the candidate will have completed MGT1301, IMI303, MGT437, MGM400, MGT492, ECO 380, RSM392, BTC2020 or equivalent courses.
Rate: $52.26 per hour + vacation pay. Should rates stipulated in the Collective Agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the Collective Agreement shall prevail.
Anticipated enrolment: 50 students
Est. Hours: 38 hours
