Sessional Lecturer- BIO208H5: Fundamentals of Human Anatomy and Physiology I

Course description: The integration of the major organ systems involved in human biomechanics. A comparative approach is taken, placing the structure and function of the skeletal, muscular and nervous systems in an evolutionary context.

Salary (In accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement):

Effective September 1, 2023:

Sessional Lecturer I - $$18,915.79

Sessional Lecturer I Long Term - $19,861.58

Sessional Lecturer II - $20,243.53 

Sessional Lecturer II Long Term - $20,653.23

Sessional Lecturer III - $20,725.52

Sessional Lecturer III Long Term - $21,140.03

 

All pay rates are inclusive of vacation pay. Should rates stipulated in the Collective Agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the Collective Agreement shall prevail.

 

Qualifications: The candidate must have a Ph.D. degree in Biology or related field. The decision on hiring will be based on previous teaching experience in this course or other similar courses, academic qualifications, ability, and suitability for the position.

Description of duties: Normal duties associated with teaching a university course, including preparation and delivery of course content, development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams, calculation and submission of grades, contact with students by regular office hours.  Completion of all grades (may include make-up exams). This course will have synchronous online lectures and tutorials and the posiiton will include supervision of the day-to-day work of any Sessional Instructional Assistants or Teaching Assistants assigned to the course.

Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the CUPE3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.
