Your opportunity:

Working under the general supervision of the Supervisor, Residence Maintenance, the Facilities Coordinator supports the efficient facilities operations of the UTSC student residences by responding to facility inquiries; coordinating work orders; coordinating building inspections, cleaning and repairs; and overseeing minor renovation projects. The Facilities Coordinator works closely and collaboratively with the Residence Maintenance team and the Student Housing and Residence Life team to provide a high quality and positive residence experience to students living on campus.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Overseeing the implementation of minor renovations
  • Tracking and monitoring work order status
  • Conducting routine building inspections
  • Applying established standards to control the distribution of access to designatedUniversity spaces
  • Responding to incidents and notifying appropriate staff, supervisors and/or authorities asrequired
  • Liaising with clients to resolve minor complaints and address issues
  • Planning and estimating financial resources required for programs and/or projects
  • Directing a small group in a limited area, including responsibility for scheduling and/orworkflow

 

Essential Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three years administrative experience in the following areas: facilities management, student housing, residential contractor or contract cleaning environment
  • Customer service oriented
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Tact, diplomacy and good judgement

  • Experience working in a university or college residence

  • The hours of works for are Monday- Friday 9:45 am to 6:00 pm.
