Your opportunity:

Working under the direction of the Manager, Research Services, the incumbent will provide effective and efficient service and support for research administration, external research funding related activity, research communications, and other initiatives established by the Vice-Principal, Research & Innovation and the Director, Office of the Vice-Principal, Research & Innovation.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Applying and interpreting policies and procedures in decision-making independently
  • Fostering and maintaining relationships with existing and potential sponsors
  • Conducting detailed analysis of grant application policies and guidelines to maximize research funding
  • Providing detailed information to faculty and administrative staff on completing and submitting research applications including substantive review of application materials
  • Facilitating educational workshops and seminars
  • Coordinating tasks for projects and other strategic initiatives with stakeholders
  • Promoting research initiatives to increase program visibility and reputation

 

Essential Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Six to seven years of experience in an academic research environment.
  • Experience in the development of applications for research funding and identification and communication of funding opportunities.
  • Proficient in the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) with strong, demonstrated presentation skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
