Your opportunity:

Reporting to the Faculty Registrar and Director of Student Services, and working under the general direction of the Admissions Officer, you will be a part of a team of professionals working together to recruit and admit the next generation of pharmacists who are moving healthcare forward.

You will provide proactive, exemplary customer service by informing prospective students and guidance counsellors about programs of study and admission requirements. You will work with a variety of prospective domestic and international students and your interpersonal skills will be essential in promoting programs at recruitment events. Your excellent organizational skills and attention to detail will help to ensure that applications are complete and move through the application process in an efficient way. With strong data and technical skills, you will track files and ensure that processes are completed in a timely way and outcomes communicated to stakeholders accordingly. You will facilitate small-group sessions where you will guide and support recently admitted students as they transition to the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy and prepare to start the program.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Providing detailed information regarding admission requirements to prospective students and applicants and responding to routine admissions and awards enquiries and referring complex enquiries as appropriate
  • Reviewing and assessing student applications for admission into the program
  • Coordinating interview schedules
  • Creating and updating student records
  • Facilitating educational workshops and seminars and promoting programs at recruitment events
  • Collating and organizing data for various reports
  • Maintaining information on digital platforms and/or printed materials
  • Scheduling committee meetings and taking and distributing meeting minutes

 

Essential Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum two years of related experience in a front-line service role in a post-secondary setting, including experience in registrarial, student services, and/or admissions roles
  • Experience working with students in a culturally diverse environment
  • Knowledge of post-secondary educational systems
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Demonstrated initiative and commitment to quality service as interactions occur with a diverse student population who may be vulnerable
  • Applicants are expected to show evidence of a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment
  • Demonstrated tact and professionalism to handle delicate situations and a high degree of confidentiality
  • Proven ability to review and process large amounts of data and information with minimal errors
  • Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)


Assets (Nonessential):

 

  • Knowledge and experience with student information systems (e.g., ROSI, MedSIS)
  • Knowledge and experience with interview platforms (e.g. VidCruiter)

Notes:

 

  • Hours of Work: Monday through Friday from 8:45 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional overtime on weekdays during peak periods. 
  • This role is not currently eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, pursuant to University policies and guidelines, including but not limited to the University of Toronto’s Alternative Work Arrangements Guideline.

USW Pay Band 09 -- $66,715. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $85,319. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
