Description:

The Department of Surgery, Division of Urology at Sinai Health is inviting applications for the position of full-time Academic Urologic Oncologist. The effective date of this appointment is September 1, 2025.

 

The successful candidate must be a urologist with fellowship training in urologic oncology and expertise in robotic surgery. Experience and proficiency in robotic radical cystectomy with intra-corporeal urinary diversion would be considered an asset. In addition to managing complex urologic oncology cases, the successful candidate will be expected to participate in multi-disciplinary care assisting gynecology, colorectal, and sarcoma surgical services with urologic needs.

 

Beyond clinical care, the successful candidate will be expected to participate in the academic and educational mission of the division. The candidate will be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor as a Surgeon-Investigator or Surgeon-Scientist. The candidate must hold, at least a Master’s degree and have a demonstrated interest and track record in clinical trials (design and management) and health services research. The candidate will be expected to participate in clinical and didactic training of medical students, residents, and fellows – demonstrated excellence in teaching is required. The successful candidate should possess strong leadership skills, professionalism and an ability to work in a team. Evidence of excellence in teaching and research is required.

 

The successful candidate must hold an MD or equivalent, hold or be eligible for certification in Urology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or its equivalent, and must hold, or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).

 

Sinai Health System (SHS) is a University of Toronto, fully affiliated academic hospital comprised of Mount Sinai Hospital, Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital, Lunenfeld-Tannenbaum Research Institute and Circle of Care, which combines acute care, complex and rehabilitative care, primary care and other community based services to create an innovative and integrated continuum of care with the goal to achieve the best outcomes and experiences and outcomes for our patients. The Division of Urology at Mount Sinai Hospital is closely affiliated with the Division of Urology at Women’s College Hospital. Together, our group is comprised of 7 full-time clinical faculty members, within multiple programs, offering clinical care in the areas of urologic oncology, andrology, infertility, and transition related surgery.  

 

Compensation will be primarily on the basis of OHIP fee for service billings, supplemented by on-call stipend and alternative payments models to support academic activities and oncology care.  Salary will be between the range of $350,000- 500,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience. This estimate is based on fee for service billings.
