The Faculty of Information at the University of Toronto invites applications for one (1) one-year Contractually Limited Term Appointment (CLTA) at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream in the area of Critical Information Policy Studies (CIPS). The appointment is anticipated to begin September 1, 2023.

Applicants must have a PhD in Information, or a related field, with a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching. Applicants must also have teaching experience at the graduate and undergraduate levels, a comprehensive foundation in the field of critical information policy studies, and the ability to teach across that curriculum.. We seek applicants whose research interests are in areas such as information policy in Canadian and global contexts, information policy, regulation and law, critical policy studies and policy advocacy. We seek candidates whose teaching interests complement and enhance our existing departmental strengths. Industry experience with policy development is considered an asset. Additionally, candidates must possess a demonstrated commitment to excellent pedagogical inquiry and a demonstrated interest in teaching-related scholarly activities.

Evidence of excellence in teaching and a commitment to excellent pedagogical inquiry can be demonstrated through teaching accomplishments, awards and accolades, presentations at significant conferences, the teaching dossier submitted as part of the application (with required materials outlined below) as well as strong letters of reference from referees of high standing.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
