Description:

The Department of Medicine, Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto and University Health Network (UHN) is seeking a Lung Transplant Respirologist to join the Toronto Lung Transplant Program. The successful candidate will have an academic position description of Clinician-Teacher, Clinician-Investigator or Clinician in Quality and Innovation, with interest and demonstrated excellence in teaching, scholarship and patient care activities. Graduate or advanced training appropriate to the applicant’s proposed academic focus is preferred. Advanced training and/or substantial clinical experience in lung transplantation is required for this position. Applicants must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor at the University of Toronto. Effective start date is July 1, 2024, or thereafter.


The successful candidate will join our existing group of 8 transplant respirologists supported by a large and growing multidisciplinary team including 9 thoracic surgeons, medical and surgical fellows, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurse coordinators, allied health professionals, and administrative staff. Clinical responsibilities will include pre- and post-transplant patient care including clinics, bronchoscopies and attending on our inpatient and consultation services. The Toronto Lung Transplant Program, residing within the Ajmera Transplant Centre at UHN, is the site of many world firsts in lung transplantation and continues to lead the world in volume of transplants, quality of care, health professional education, and clinical and research innovation.

 

The successful candidate must hold a MD degree or equivalent, be certified (or eligible for certification) in Respirology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and hold, or be eligible for licensure in Ontario.

 

Estimated remuneration will be in the range of $300,000 - $380,000 (fee-for-service estimate) and commensurate with academic rank, qualifications, and experience.  Applications will be accepted until May 10, 2024, or until the position is filled.
