Description:

University Health Network (UHN), a University of Toronto (UofT) teaching hospital, is seeking applicants for the Lillian Love Chair in Women’s Health at UHN. The successful candidate must be eligible for an academic appointment at the level of associate or full professor at the University of Toronto, and an appointment/employment at UHN. The term of the Chair position is 5 years with the opportunity for one 5-year renewal following a successful review. Applications will be accepted until May 9th, 2025, or until filled. The position start date is September 1st, 2025, or a mutually agreed upon date.

 

The Lillian Love Chair in Women’s Health will be used to primarily support program of research, for the development and support of research, education and other scholarly activities in Women’s Health. The role will involve active leadership internally, locally, nationally and internationally, to advance research strategies to address women’s health. The Chair holder will integrate, build and strengthen the existing team’s efforts, and champion collaborative and integrative research to build bridges and engagement across the broader UHN/UofT community. Through research and scholarly activities, the Chair holder will help position UHN as a global leader in knowledge generation and translation in the area of women’s health.

 

With a growing international reputation, applicants from a wide variety of backgrounds, with an international reputation in their field, are encouraged. We welcome applicants working in any research domain directly relevant to women’s health. The successful candidate must have a strong research focus and hold either an MD or a PhD in a related discipline with significant expertise in research relevant to women’s health. If a practicing clinician, they must hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO), and certification from Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), or international equivalent. The candidate’s excellence in scholarly achievement should be evidenced by local, national, and international collaborations, grants and peer-reviewed publications. A track record of excellence, collaborative science, knowledge mobilization, productivity, partnership-building, and leadership is essential.

 

The Chair holder’s remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The Chair will be based at UHN, and if the Chair holder is a clinician, they are expected to become a member of the UHN academic practice plan and will be entitled to additional support commensurate with academic and clinical activities.
