Description:

The Department of Medicine at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (SHSC), in conjunction with the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, is inviting applications for the position of Head, Division of Medical Oncology and Malignant Hematology/ Head Systemic Therapy. The successful applicant should be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. Expected start date is January 1 2026 or shortly thereafter.

 

Major responsibilities for this position will include clinical, administrative and academic leadership of the division's education, patient care and research activities. The Division Head will oversee faculty recruitment, mentoring and career development. They will serve as the Head of Systemic Therapy for the Odette Cancer Centre and champion the strategic initiatives of the Cancer Centre, Department, Hospital and University

 

The successful candidate must have a personal record of excellence in academic productivity with a National/International reputation. They must hold an MD degree, have or be eligible for certification in Medical Oncology or Hematology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and licensure in the province of Ontario. Leadership experience within a Cancer agency is an asset.

 

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto and has a full service Medical Oncology and Hematology academic program with residency programs in both disciplines through the University of Toronto. Sunnybrook is home to the Odette Cancer Centre, the sixth largest comprehensive Cancer Centre in North America.

 

Estimated compensation will be in the range of $400,000 – 500,000 plus fee for clinical service commensurate with qualifications and experience.
