Course Description: This course provides a multitude of approaches to music teaching and learning including informal music learning, music technology, community music and improvisatory and creative musical activities in music classrooms. Students will actively create and perform music while crafting a well-rounded curriculum based on the ideas derived from the course. Philosophical underpinnings of such practices will also be examined.
Class Schedule: Monday 10am-12pm in the Winter term
January to April 2026
Salary: $9,820.70

Qualifications: Graduate degree in music technology. Extensive knowledge and experience with music technology in educational settings. Experience in community music and/or community-engaged research. Demonstrated excellence teaching music at the university level.
Duties: Define course objectives; prepare course materials; provide clear guidelines on course requirements and regulations; teach classes as scheduled; administer and evaluate student assignments; prepare and submit final grade in accordance with policy. Maintain reasonable hours of student consultation outside scheduled class hours.
