As the Faculty Engagement and Academic Affairs Officer, you will play a key role in supporting our faculty members throughout their academic careers, from recruitment and reviews to development and senior promotions. This role requires a blend of project management, policy implementation, and stakeholder engagement to drive key initiatives within the department.

In this highly collaborative position, you will be responsible for managing the administrative processes related to academic promotions, providing committee support, and leading projects that enhance faculty engagement. You will work closely with internal and external partners to improve operations and elevate the faculty experience.Relying on your strongcommunication and analytical skills, you will build and maintain department relationships with faculty, senior leadership, and other stakeholders, and ensure accuracy in the application of university policies, while striving to continually find ways to raise the stature of our faculty and department.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Implementing project initiatives by executing tasks, building stakeholder relationships, and ensuring best practices
  • Overseeing project cycles, tracking progress, verifying documentation, and recommending process improvements
  • Managing the clincial/MD promotions process, including dossier preparation, document verification, and compliance with standards
  • Implementing process improvements for academic activities based on feedback and evaluation
  • Preparing reports, summaries, and data to support promotions and projects
  • Providing committee support, including scheduling meetings, developing agendas, taking minutes and following up on action items
  • Offering guidance on academic policies, best practices, and committee procedures
  • Coordinating communications and ensuring decisions are implemented and tracked effectively

 

Essential Qualifications:

 

 

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years' relevant experience in academic administration, particularly in faculty promotions and supporting senior level committees
  • Strong project management skills, with demonstrated experience implementing complex projects
  • Experience working with and advising senior leadership on academic policies and best practices
  • Experience supporting and coordinating departmental academic searches and reviews
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft correspondence and reports with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with a superior customer service orientation
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and demands, while maintaining high attention to detail and meeting deadlines
  • Experience maintaining and updating administrative processes
  • Ability to concisely summarize information from multiple sources
  • A proven commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusivity
