About us:

University Family Housing is comprised of two 21 story residential towers and a unique stock of 83-century homes. The department provides housing to student families, faculty families and long-term residentialtenancies in two neighbourhoods on the St. George Campus to over 3000 adults and children, and provides on-site property management services, as well as educational and recreational programming for tenant families.

Your opportunity:

Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Building Operations and Services, the incumbent will be responsible for identifying, scheduling and coordinating work pertaining to the building fabric of 30 & 35 Charles Street West, Student Family Housing Residence facilities.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Conducting routine building inspections
  • Determining logistical details required for internal moves
  • Identifying and resolving minor building security issues
  • Troubleshooting and resolving routine maintenance requests
  • Liaising between clients and facilities
  • Paying close attention to occupational safety precautions

 

Essential Qualifications:

 

  • College Diploma (2 years) or acceptable combination of equivalent experience in the field of Facilities Management and Maintenance.
  • Minimum three years in building management and/or maintenance; a working knowledge of custodial, maintenance, safety and security practices; customer service in a diverse residential setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflict, exercise independent decision making, effective problem solving
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Sets priorities while balancing competing demands
  • Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite; various web browsers; Microsoft Outlook; Adobe PDF

USW Pay Band 08 -- $62,832. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $80,351. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
