Your opportunity:
This is a USW term position for up to 10 months at 90% FTE.
Under close supervision of the Principal Investigators, the Lab Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all aspects of research for various cognitive studies with both children and adults. Duties include but are not limited to proofing and posting adverts to recruit participants; following rules and procedural instructions when administering research study test materials, testing participants and collating data; and scheduling and keeping track of participants’ appointments and participant fees. The Lab Coordinator applies established standards when cleaning and maintaining the research lab, ensuring supplies are adequate stocked; maintains filing and website information.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Proofing and posting adverts to recruit applicants
- Following rules and procedural instructions when administering research studies
- Recording and tabulating experiment results
- Preparing consent forms using templates
- Providing some care to prevent physical or emotional injury or harm
- Recording or verifying transactions on a single account
- Providing orientation to others, including work study students, on work procedures and practices
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, a related field, or an acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum one (1) year of relevant experience working in a developmental psychology lab and working with children participating in research studies.
- Demonstrated interest in and exposure to research in cognition, particularly learning and memory, and their relation to the brain.
- Must be comfortable working with young children and families, and have strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated time management and organizational skills with proven ability to prioritize work and meet firm deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail, demonstrated ability to follow rules and procedural instructions when administering research studies.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team player.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and R statistical software to record and tabulate experiment results and code quantitative research data.

USW Pay Band 05 -- $52,481. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $67,115. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
