Your opportunity:
Reporting to the Director, Student Success, the Lead, Systems and Data Management, Student Success provides systems support, data management, configuration and reporting for Student Life and the St. George Campus. The Lead maintains system eligibility, guidelines and documentation for tri-campus University partners and coordinates / facilitates user and advisory group meetings for University partners.
As the system administrator and technical support (e.g. Orbis Outcome Platform, Cognos dynamic cubes, Tableau) the Lead configures system modules, manages and oversees staff account access, roles and permissions, ensures data integrity for dynamic cubes & Tableau reports managed by the Student Success cluster, develops reports using data from Cognos dynamic cubes, Tableau, Campus Labs, and other data sources, and provides departmental reporting on usage. The Lead is the main point of contact for University partners wanting to use platforms, consults to understand their system and reporting needs, determines the appropriate modules and configuration or reports required. The Lead develops processes and documentation, provides system demos,develops standard operating procedures and referral protocols (i.e. who owns particular segments in the system) and provides student access to the systems. The incumbent trains campus partners on the functionality of systems, is the main point of contactfor the University with vendors, Information Technology in Student Life and at the University, tri-campus partners, and trouble shoots technical problems and recommends system enhancements. The system administrator updates content pages, manages communication to stakeholders, imports graphics/images, and acts as a resource for system users. The Lead extracts and manipulates data from systems using a variety of software solutions to provide key departmental reports. Working with Business Officers, the Lead oversees the configuration, issues or discrepancies with the Ecommerce set up within the Orbis system. Supervises the Systems and Data Officer and the Assistant, Systems and Data Management, Student Success and directs their work and that of work-study students.
Your responsibilities will include:
Developing project schedules including milestones, critical path, timelines, deliverables and reporting
Overseeing the development and maintenance of the prospect management system. Configuring system features and applications.
Liaising with vendors to coordinate services and resolve issues
Creating and maintaining procedures and guidelines
Preparing detailed analysis and making recommendations to support systems refinements and upgrades
Running queries to gather data
Training end-users on procedures and the use of supported IT systems
Directing the activities of a group of staff-appointed employees all performing a similar function
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Culture & Information Technology, Computer Science or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum five years related experience in a university setting. Demonstrated experience successfully managing complex cross-functional projects.
Previous experience training co-workers on complex systems, in a workshop setting or in-person.
Proven experience implementing and maintaining complex administrative and database systems required.
Experience maintaining a website, familiarity with a CMS and content management software required.
Experience manipulating and analyzing data, developing info graphics, and reports required.
Experience with, and knowledge of, HTML programming and Campus Labs or other survey software.
Experience managing social networking sites (blogging, Twitter, Facebook) and social media management tools such as Hootsuite.
Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office (must be able to set up templates and macros in Word and Excel, set up Excel spreadsheets including formulas, and preparing sophisticated PowerPoint presentations.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Access and other database software such as StarRez, Tableau and Cognos Cubes.
Ability to analyze data and produce effective reports.
Demonstrated superior interpersonal skills and judgment.
Tact, professionalism, and understanding of how to handle confidential information.
Superior organizational and project management skills; excellent analytical skills and report preparation.
Ability to lead work teams, train on complex systems, and collaborate with colleagues to achieve outcomes.
Ability to multi-task, work quickly, accurately and independently to ensure assigned tasks are completed as per timelines.
High degree of initiative also required.

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:
USW Pay Band 14 -- $90,056. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $115,169. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
