The Department of Medicine, University of Toronto, is seeking a Physiatrist-Clinician Teacher or Clinician-Quality and Innovation for the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute University Health Network. The successful candidate will be an academic clinician who represents scholarly achievement and clinical excellence. The successful applicant should be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer, Assistant, Associate or Full Professor at the University of Toronto and will be expected to work in the position description of Clinician-Teacher or Clinician Quality and Innovation. The effective start date is September 1, 2025, or shortly thereafter.
 
The Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute is seeking a dynamic clinician with a promising record of accomplishment in medical education or quality improvement. 
The successful candidate will 1) provide physiatric consultations to patients with stroke and acquired brain injuries in acute care and 2) co-manage inpatients on Bickle Centre’s low-intensity and medium-intensity rehabilitation units with the hospitalists, and provide physiatric follow-ups to patients after discharge back to the community. Bickle Centre’s low intensity and medium-intensity rehabilitation units provide care for patients neurological, musculoskeletal, geriatric and neuromuscular rehabilitation needs. 
 
The successful candidate must hold an MD or equivalent degree and be eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. If residency training was completed in Canada, then candidates must have a Fellowship or be eligible for Fellowship certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. If residency training was completed in the US, then the candidate must have certification or be eligible for certification by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and/or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Other international applicants will be considered after the completion of fellowships in Canada. Completion of advanced training (ie. Master’s degree, certificate course) in medical education or quality improvement are required to ensure eligibility for a full-time academic appointment in the Department of Medicine, Division of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of Toronto. Completion of fellowship(s) are considered assets.
 
Estimated remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
