Description:

The Department of Medical Imaging, Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, in affiliation with Sinai Health, the University Health Network and Women's College Hospital, is recruiting an Abdominal Radiologist for the Abdominal Division. The successful applicant must be eligible for an academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor at the University of Toronto. The anticipated start date is October 1, 2025.

The Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDMI) operates across the University Health Network Hospitals (Toronto General Hospital, Toronto Western Hospital, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, and Toronto Rehabilitation Institute), Sinai Health System, and Women's College Hospital. The Department's clinical services span a broad spectrum of diagnostic and interventional procedures including the entire spectrum of subspecialized abdominal imaging. Trauma imaging is only a small part of clinical routine services. JDMI operates an install base of 15 CT and 12 MRI scanners (including dedicated research scanners), 12 X-ray and 40 ultrasound units, two PET-CT scanners, and one PET MRI scanner. 

The successful candidate will join a team of 34 faculty and 16-18 clinical fellows in the Abdominal Imaging Division, performing across all modalities within the division. Abdominal radiologists interpret per annum about 10,000 radiographs, 60,000 abdominal CTs, >10,000 abdominal MRs, and >95,000 abdominal US studies, and perform around 3,500 interventions. In addition to the possibility of research time, the successful candidate will be an integral part of the teaching faculty of our Undergraduate Medical Education, Continuing Medical Education, Residency, and Fellowship Programs as Clinician-Teachers.

Candidates must hold an MD, or equivalent degree as well as board certification in diagnostic radiology from the RCPSC, ABR, or international organization that recognizes medical specialists. They must also be a fellowship-trained abdominal radiologist. A strong interest and previous engagement in research and teaching are expected. The successful applicant must be licensed or eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. The academic rank and academic position description will be in accordance with the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Compensation will be in the range of $300,000 - $450,000, comensurate with academic rank, qualifications, and experience.
