MedIT provides information technology support for the Temerty Faculty of Medicine. Our mission is to partner and collaborate with clients, University, and third parties to determine value based, sustainable technology solutions that enable the Faculty to achieve its academic mission.

The M365 Solutions Specialist will play a key role in optimizing workflows within Temerty Medicine using the Microsoft 365 suite. You’ll work alongside clients and M365 Solution Architects to design and implement tailored, user-friendly solutions while providing hands-on programming support. This role offers a unique opportunity to deepen your expertise in M365 products and leverage that knowledge to enhance efficiency and innovation across the Faculty.


Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Assessing client system requirements, business processes, and user needs, and proposing effective solutions using the Microsoft 365 (M365) suite
  • Analyzing the performance and efficiency of current client systems (e.g., SharePoint), developing technical improvements, and ensuring system security and integrity
  • Gathering requirements from clients and working closely with M365 Solution Architects to create and implement user-friendly solutions that streamline workflows and improve client processes
  • Collaborating with M365 Solution Architects to develop and implement Enterprise offerings, rollout, and implementation across Temerty Medicine
  • Developing, testing, and modifying programming code within the M365 suite based on client needs
  • Evaluating new M365 tools and updates to assess risks and/or opportunities
  • Addressing client service requests for M365, troubleshoot issues, update documentation, and train end-users on M365 features and best practices

 

Essential Qualifications:

 

 

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
  • Minimum four years of experience with M365 development and administration, ideally in a higher education environment
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 suite, including SharePoint, Teams, and Office applications
  • Possesses knowledge of related technologies such as SQL server, MS Windows Server, Azure, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory
  • Proven experience with Power Platform, including PowerApps, Power Automate, and Power BI
  • Demonstrated development experience, with the ability to do custom development for M365 products
  • Experience in working in an Agile environment
  • Strong communications skills (both oral and written) to communicate effectively with both highly-technical and non-technical users
  • Strong interpersonal to effectively work with a wide range of faculty, staff, and students
  • Ability to work well as a team member in multi-professional environment and as an individual contributor


Assets (Nonessential):

 

 

  • Work experience in a university, government, or healthcare setting would be considered an asset
  • Certifications such as Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), and Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD), or Microsoft Certified: Information Protection Administrator would be strong assets
