Your opportunity:

 

The Rehabilitation Sciences Sector (RSS) in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine is a world leader in the delivery of rehabilitation sciences health professional programs and research. The RSS is comprised of four essential departments: Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy (OSOT), Department of Physical Therapy (PT), Rehabilitation Sciences Institute (RSI), and the Department of Speech-Language Pathology (SLP).

 

As Manager, Finance and Administration, you will play a key role in centrally overseeing business operations and financial needs across our newly integrated Sector. Working closely with RSS Chairs, Director of Operations, and senior administrative leaders, you will develop plans and business processes to ensure high quality outcomes in the areas of financial management, budgeting, facilities management and renewal, and administration. Your experience in building effective working relationships and partnerships with external and internal stakeholders and excellent financial management and budgeting experience will help us enhance our Sector’s efficiency, effectiveness, and operational goals.

 

Essential Qualifications: 


•    Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field to the discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•    Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in administrative, financial, and human resources management in a university or hospital environment
•    Proven management and leadership skills, preferably in a unionized environment; experience in team building and managing change
•    Experience supporting strategic planning initiatives and managing and overseeing complex administrative processes
•    Demonstrated experience in liaising with senior administrators, responding to and handling matters of a complex and sensitive nature
•    Ability to interpret complex policies and procedures related to financial and space issues
•    Demonstrated knowledge of human resources polices and procedures, including interpretation of collective agreements
•    Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, administrative management systems (AMS), Financial Information Systems (FIS), Human Resources Information System (HRIS), and Research Information Systems (SIS)
•    Strong decision-making skills; superior planning and project management skills with a focus on executing and competing tasks under pressure and within deadlines.
•    Highly developed verbal and written communication and presentation skills
•    Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong ability to foster and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
•    Strong team-building skills and a collaborative and consultative leadership style; excellent analytical skills and creative problem-solving ability
•    Client-services oriented, with demonstrated listening and critical thinking skills
