Description:

 

Reporting to the Associate Director SIS, the Manager, Salesforce Services is responsible for managing the team of Information Technology Staff that assists the Division of the Vice-President, & Provost, DVPP in developing and amending functionality to the University’s enterprise Salesforce platform.  The Manager, Salesforce Services leads the maintenance of the current system and the development and/or integration of new systems and applications to ensure ongoing sustainment, usability, and accessibility by the end users as per operational requirements and committed service levels.   They will lead their team in achieving the primary operational functions and objectives of the DVPP and academic divisions as they pertain to systems and requirements and will make recommendations to add to and/or enhance the current administration applications aligned with institutional and divisional business and strategic requirements. 

 

The incumbent will have a primary responsibility of leading the team that evaluates, informs solution design, and implements solution enhancements from the perspective of DVPP. They will work closely with DVPP and the academic divisions to define and coordinate functionality required and execute development, implementation and integration as required. 

 

The Manager will facilitate and lead team efforts to establish current and future functional requirements and translate those requirements into specifications for development. The incumbent must establish close working relationships with team members, subject matter experts (SMEs) and technical partners within and outside the immediate project structure. 
 

Qualifications:

 

EDUCATION:

 

University graduate or combination of formal education and experience.

 

EXPERIENCE:

 

Minimum of five (5) years of recent and related experience in Salesforce Applications/Solutions development in a leadership role and/or senior administrator experience.   Salesforce Administrator Certification; Understanding of AURA and APEX programming languages; Understanding of LWC and how they are used and deployed within a Salesforce environment; Demonstrated experience with Salesforce Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Student Success Hub; Prior experience leading large IT projects preferred. Demonstrated success working with faculty and administrative staff, in the implementation of large-scale system changes within an institution. Project management experience required. Demonstrated HR management experience in a unionized environment. Demonstrated success applying analytical, abstract, creative, evaluative and synthesis abilities within a software development environment. Basic understanding of software development methodologies and user design practices an asset. 

 

SKILLS:

 

Proven project management skills including methodology, research, planning, and organizational skills. Strong analytical skills, able to take functional requirements and abstract them into models and concepts. Excellent presentation and written communication skills, ability to clearly communicate complex ideas using diagrams, models, and prototypes. Ability to train, mentor, motivate and guide others to learn complex technical design skills. Ability to bridge between business and technical personnel. Familiarity with SAP ERP software. Familiarity / knowledge of Research award management processes.  

 

OTHER:

 

Ability to multi-task and continually prioritize projects and project milestones, due to shifting deadlines and new requirements, is essential. Exceptional leadership and teamwork skills. Must be able to collaborate, influence and cooperate with team members, project sponsors, and other stakeholders.  Must be able to deal calmly and effectively with a variety of people. Ability to interpret University policy with regard to maintenance and access of information. Able to identify the need to arrange for the provision of education in the use of supported products.
