The Office of the Registrar is responsible for student recruitment and admissions, direct and online service to current students, including registration, financial aid, scholarships, academic assessments, graduation and petitions. It also provides course scheduling, administration of tests and exams, enrolment data analysis and business intelligence.

Your Opportunity:
Under the direction of the Associate Registrar & Director of Systems & Operations, the Manager, Scheduling and Exams is responsible for the development and operation of the University of Toronto Scarborough’s (UTSC) academic course scheduling and examinations, which provides administration of over 10,000 deliveries and 30,000 tests and exams annually. The Manager, Scheduling and Exams will have the mandate of developing campus policy, guidelines and operational plans for course scheduling, tests and exams; ensuring the alignment of the mission of the University and legislative requirements.
The incumbent will provide leadership and professional expertise in the planning and implementation of accommodated test & exam services, regular tests and exam, course scheduling and manages staff to successfully execute the service to the UTSC community. The Manager, Scheduling and Exams assumes responsibility for human resources and labour relations; including dispute resolution and compliance of collective agreements. The Manager, Scheduling and Exams will liaise with AccessAbility Services, Center of Teaching and Learning, Academic Departments and Information and Instructional Technology Services, and other members of the campus community to develop and foster relationships and act as an advocate for the UTSC community; providing information and advice with respect to the service and the accommodation process.
Qualifications Required:
Education:
- University Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
- Minimum five (5) years of substantial and progressively responsible management-related experience and knowledge of planning, and management of academic scheduling, test and exam services that provides accommodations to students with varying needs.
- Experience and ability to apply management principles, practices and techniques to ensure the effective administration of the unit and to ensure institutional goals are achieved.
- Fiscal and budget management knowledge and experience including the ability to establish, implement, monitor and analyze financial data.
- Supervision and management of unionized staff.
Skills:
- Superior oral and written communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Word, and adaptive technology.
- Demonstrated strategic, analytical, conflict resolution, organization and planning skills.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative, positive and effective working relationships with multiple and diverse partners and stakeholders, internally and externally.

- Ability to work independently with a minimal supervision, as well as serve as a key member of the University Registrar’s team.
