Your opportunity:

Reporting to the Director, Administration and Finance and under the direction of Associate Chair, Undergraduate Studies, (STA & ACT) the Manager, Undergraduate Programs is responsible for providing program development/management, strategic input and functional direction to ensure that all operations of Statistical Sciences Undergraduate Office are implemented in a proactive, professional, collegial and knowledgeable manner.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance.
  • Planning and developing educational programs and courses independently.
  • Conducting detailed analysis on program efficiency and student learning outcomes to inform program planning activities. Producing complex statistical and/or financial reports.
  • Analyzing internal and external trends and recommending educational programming improvements.
  • Implementing program improvements and maintenance of program standards. Implementing operational policies, procedures and best practices for the program.
  • Developing and implementing targeted student outreach initiatives. Developing effective and cost efficient recruitment plans.
  • Advising students on academic and/or financial matters by providing options and consequences incorporating personal circumstances impacting academic success andan understanding of an individual's background.
  • Planning and implementing workflow for a group and directing the activities of a group of staff-appointed employees all performing a similar function.

 

Essential Qualifications:

 

 

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of six to seven years of recent and relevant experience in developing educational programs and student recruitment plans, conducting complex statistical analysis and reporting, drafting and implementing policies, academic student counselling and managing operational resourcesin an academic setting.
  • Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis on program efficiency and student experience and provide strategic input in program planning.
  • Experience supervising staff and planning and implementing workflow for a operational unit
  • Experience interpreting student and academic policies, regulations and procedures.
  • Experience managing and planning project/program resources, including but not limited to financial resources. 
  • Experience implementing operational policies and procedures.
  • Experience with developing and implementing targeted student outreach initiatives and experience in developing effective and cost efficient student recruitment plans.
  • Strong working knowledge of word processing, database and spreadsheet software, including MS Office. Strong skills with Microsoft Excel to complete quantitative analysis.
  • Working knowledge of the University's ROSI and ACORN Systems and/or other related student information system.
  • Strong leadership skills with excellent judgement, strategic thinking and decision making abilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to complete projects and meet competing deadlines.
  • Excellent relationship building skills with the ability to relate to all levels of faculty, staff, students and partnerships in a manner which facilitates collaboration and cooperation.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem solving skills. Shows tact, diplomacy and good judgement.

This is a term position from May 2025 to July 2026.
This role is currently eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, pursuant to University policies and guidelines, including but not limited to the University of Toronto’s Alternative Work Arrangements Guideline.
