Your opportunity:

The Centre for Professional Development (CPD) at the Lawrence Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing is engaged in developing and delivering courses to professional nurses as part of a larger program of continuing professional nursing education and life-long professional growth.

Under the general direction of the Associate Director, CPD, the Program Assistant, CPD will be responsible for organizing course evaluation and course orientation material, receiving, and passing on application documents for review, generating reports, proofreading and fact-checking content, editing content for style and tone, and maintaining information on digital platforms. The Program Assistant, CPD will also be responsible for determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming, including booking rooms and arranging appropriate accommodations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirecting as appropriate
  • Disseminating program and/or service information
  • Checking completeness of applications
  • Informing customers of any changes to or cancellations of programs
  • Updating and maintaining records
  • Editing content for brochures, newsletters, websites and/or handbooks
  • Collaborating on cost estimates

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • College Diploma (2 years) or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two years related experience providing program support, preferably in a post-secondary environment.
  • Experience reviewing and verifying the accuracy and completeness of documents.
  • Experience proofreading and fact-checking content.
  • Experience maintaining information on digital platforms.
  • Strong computer skills with experience in using Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • Strong organizational, time management and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise tact, discretion, good judgement, and initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task, and exercise attention to detail in all matters.

USW Pay Band 07 -- $59,172. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $75,673. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
