Your opportunity:


Under the direct leadership of Vice-Dean, Recruiting, Enrolment and Student Success, the Office of International Academic Programs and Initiatives is responsible for advancing UTSC’s academic goals by designing and delivering academic programs and initiatives to international students. The mandate of the office is to provide cutting-edge programs and experiences to international students; to assist seamless transition for international students to degree studies at University of Toronto.

As the Program coordinator, you will be joining a dedicated team of international education experts to provide services to international and domestic students for a smooth transaction to university life. In this engaging role you will work with stakeholders in or outside our organization to supervise the delivery of all our programs.


Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Overseeing the delivery of programs and/or workshops
  • Implementing plans and process improvements for program and service activities
  • Advising students on co-curricular, academic and personal matters by providing options and consequences incorporating personal circumstances impacting academic success and an understanding of an individual's background
  • Advocating on behalf of students with internal and external contacts/agencies
  • Developing content for marketing and/or promotional materials and promoting events and programs to students
  • Conducting detailed analysis on program efficiency and student learning outcomes to inform program planning activities and making recommendations for programming enhancements
  • Generating reports and maintaining information on digital platforms
  • Directing the activities of casual staff

 

Essential Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of related experience coordinating an educational program in a post-secondary education environment
  • Must be fluent Mandarin (both written and spoken)
  • Must have experience working with diverse communities and have a high level of cross-cultural awareness, understanding and sensitivity of those facing systemic barriers
  • Experience with analyzing and evaluating educational program service delivery and providing recommendations for improvement
  • Ability to create a welcoming environment for students/potential students and provide excellent customer-service
  • Advanced Proficiency in MS Office suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate complex procedures and guidelines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to demonstrate sound judgment and tact under pressure when handling complex and sensitive matters
  • Must possess the ability to relate to students in a manner which builds trust and confidence
  • Have a high degree of organizational, planning and coordination skills, as well as attention to detail
  • Ability to be flexible in adjusting to changing circumstances in order to manage multiple and concurrent deadlines, initiatives and scheduling
