Your opportunity:

The Temerty Faculty of Medicine’s Commercialization & Partnerships unit, positioned within the Office of the Vice Dean, Research & Health Science Education, serves a vast community of scholars and trainees. This newly established unit aims to advance the faculty’s commercialization, entrepreneurship and partnerships initiatives. By offering transformative training programs, fostering strategic partnerships, implementing effective commercialization strategies, and nurturing an entrepreneurial culture, the unit seeks to amplify the impact of medical discoveries originating from the faculty.

The Program Officer, Entrepreneurship and Commercialization will collaborate closely with the Director, Commercialization & Partnerships to support the development, coordination and execution of a range of entrepreneurship and commercialization programs and initiatives. They will play a key role in helping to build and deliver programming that empowers innovators, strengths entrepreneurial capacity across the Faculty and advances the translation of health research and technologies.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the delivery and execution of a suite of entrepreneurship and commercialization programs and initiatives (e.g., ECHO, EiR, etc.) at Temerty Medicine, including training programs, educational workshops, seminars, and related strategic activities
  • Developing and enhancing programming by identifying gaps and recommending new training content, workshops and resources
  • Delivering presentations to promote entrepreneurship and commercialization programs, opportunities and initiatives across the Faculty and beyond
  • Planning and implementing projects from end-to-end including developing project schedules, communication plans, evaluation frameworks, and collecting feedback
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners to advance program objectives
  • Planning financial resources for programs and projects including collaborating on cost estimates and budget planning
  • Supporting the preparation of funding applications and progress reports to advance program sustainability and demonstrate impact
  • Leading the development and consistent application of program policies ensuring equitable and effective program delivery

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years of recent and relevant experience in program/project management in a university or healthcare setting
  • Demonstrated experience with entrepreneurship program development, including experience facilitating delivery of programs, educational workshops, and seminars
  • Proven experience with delivering presentations to promote programming in the area of entrepreneurship and commercialization
  • Demonstrated experience with managing projects from end-to-end including developing project schedules, communication plans, evaluation frameworks, and collecting feedback
  • Experience with financial resource planning including collaborating on cost estimates and budget planning
  • Experience in collating and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data and information in order to draft reports, provide briefing materials and recommendations to a range of audiences including senior leadership
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral for the preparation of reports and making presentations
  • Good facilitation skills to lead groups to productive outcomes
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
