Your opportunity:

Reporting to the Assistant Dean, Registrarial & Student Services with a dual report to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Records & Data Analyst will support the Faculty of Information by proactively gathering and synthesizing information from various internal and external sources to support decision making. The position is responsible for providing accurate and timely information for a multitude of purposes relating to key functions of the Faculty. Data to be managed includes but is not limited to recruitment, application and admission, student records and enrolment (courses, programs, and work integrated learning such as co-op), as well as financial and operational.

This role will conduct business analysis of data to inform management’s decision-making. It will analyze processes and make recommendations to increase efficiency and coordination and reduce redundancy in data. The Records & Data Analyst will be a part of an engaging environment that strives to better support the student experience and operations of the Faculty.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzing processes and recommending changes for more efficient coordination of operations
  • Conducting detailed data analysis to inform management decision making
  • Identifying and analyzing data discrepancies and taking necessary actions to correct errors
  • Updating and maintaining database records
  • Implementing plans and process improvements for registration and enrollment activities
  • Advising on data structure designs
  • Analyzing statistical information to inform enrollment projections and planning
  • Maintaining information on digital platforms

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum three years of experience performing data analysis to support management decision making in an environment in which databases and/or other supportive technologies are integral to the role
  • Understanding of and experience analyzing metrics that are critical to higher education student services, such as admission numbers, yield rates, demographics, enrollment, career/work-integrated learning placements, and metrics required for accreditation
  • Understanding of and experience analyzing financial and operational metrics
  • Experience with data manipulation (e.g., coding for data entry, recording of variable for complex data, merging data), query design, data collection, and statistical analysis of databases
  • Experience designing, disseminating and collecting surveys and questionnaires
  • Knowledge of Student Information System (e.g., ROSI)
  • Demonstrated experience working with large data sets/queries (e.g., Rocketshuttle, SQL)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and presentation skills
  • Impeccable attention-to-detail and deadlines and the ability to work under pressure
