Your opportunity:

The Rotman Commerce program is offered jointly by the Rotman School of Management and the Faculty of Arts and Science. It is a highly respected, highly competitive program within the business, financial and academic communities. Rotman Commerce serves approximately 3,300 in-program undergraduate business students as well as over 18,000 graduates of the Bachelor of Commerce program. Rotman Commerce offers its students a rich and rigorous academic program alongside ample opportunities to develop themselves personally and professionally.

As the Recruitment & Admissions Officer, you will support the functions associated with marketing the Rotman Commerce program to prospective students, including promoting, presenting and coordinating recruitment events, support all aspects of the admissions process, and contribute to the development of the Program’s strategic recruitment plan.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Fostering and maintaining a network of external contacts to support recruitment strategies
  • Determining appropriate schools to visit based on an analysis of feedback and market trends
  • Delivering student recruitment presentations
  • Promoting programs at recruitment events
  • Supporting the admissions and Supplemental Application process
  • Advising potential applicants, students, parents, and/or guidance counselors on admissions criteria and processes by probing and providing a range of options and possible consequences
  • Working with a team of Ambassadors and the undergraduate recruitment and admissions teams from across U of T to support tri-campus efforts
  • Planning, coordinating, and executing recruitment and yield events

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • Minimum four (4) years of related experience in undergraduate and/or graduate student recruitment, student life, and/or admissions, including experience presenting to diverse groups and advising prospective students and parents
  • Experience with data collection, online communication strategies, marketing materials, and web-based marketing
  • Demonstrated experience developing, using and maintaining an online database system
  • Experience in the planning and execution of varied and large-scale events
  • Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Zoom
  • Demonstrated superior communication (oral, written and presentation) and interpersonal skills
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills
  • Aptitude for working with statistical data, demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail and initiative
  • Familiarity with issues and trends in student recruitment and admissions, and student life is necessary
  • Valid passport, driver's licence, and ability to travel for recruitment events


Assets (Nonessential):

  • Knowledge of Faculty of Arts and Science, the Rotman Commerce Program and University of Toronto regulations, practices, programs and admission requirements
  • Experience with CRM database
