As Research Coordinator, you will champion research activities in our department by facilitating research grant submissions, including team and equipment grants. You will also develop innovative solutions to aid faculty members in their research projects and initiatives in applications such as SharePoint and different survey tools. Your extensive knowledge of research funding opportunities and grant management will enable you to support faculty and trainees in opportunities such as drafting funding proposals, preparing budgets and coordinating the preparation and approval of other submission materials. Your strong communication and relationship-building skills will empower you to foster and sustain collaboration with existing and potential collaborators and increase the visibility of the department’s research successes. You will play an essential role in disseminating research results by coordinating meetings, seminars, and workshops.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Keeping well-informed on funding opportunities and resources, and liaising with agencies, collaborators, industry sponsors and faculty
- Coordinating funding application process and verifying research funding proposals are complete, accurate and adhere to sponsor guidelines
- Coordinating logistics for meetings, workshops and seminars
- Editing funding content, updating CV's and generating reports
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
- Minimum three years' relevant research administration experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian funding opportunities and the ability to provide relevant information and resources
- Knowledge of the Temerty Faculty of Medicine and its affiliated hospital partners
- Experience supporting the grant application process, including editing grant applications and updating CV's
- Experience maintaining digital platforms and working with survey tools
- Experience coordinating event logistics and supporting committees and research initiatives
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, SharePoint, Qualtrics, RedCap and Survey Monkey
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with a strong customer focus
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet the demands of a fast-paced environment

USW Pay Band 09 -- $66,715. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $85,319. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
