About us:

The Enterprise Applications and Solutions Integration (EASI) department within the Chief Information Officer’s (CIO) Division is a central department responsible for all matters pertaining to the development, maintenance and effectiveness of the core administrative management and student systems at the U of T. Included within these responsibilities are all central SAP systems, such as Financial Services, Human Resources, Research Administration and Procurement; the central U of T Student System (ROSI); approximately 40 related vendor and specialized web applications, as well as central Business Intelligence and Document Management applications.

Your opportunity:

Under the general direction of the Executive Director, Enterprise Applications & Solutions Integration or their designate, you will be part of a dynamic, collaborative and innovative team focused on delivering transformational technology solution for the University and its more than 2,700 SAP system users. You will have the opportunity to work with the latest in SAP technologies and assist in meeting the needs and driving efficiencies for the University. You will play a key role in designing, developing and optimizing SAP solutions that support the financial processes with the University. Through your efforts in this position, you will directly help improve the University’s administrative management currently serving more than 80,000 full time students.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Participate in complex code reviews to determine areas of efficiency and provide feedback.
  • Evaluating programming code to ensure it has validity, compatibility, and that it meets appropriate standards
  • Commenting on programming code for the purposes of standardization and consistency
  • Analyzing, recommending and designing technical solutions for highly complex IT problems
  • Review faculties and divisions’ business processes to identify opportunities for improvement, to increase efficiency, and to ensure compliance with university policies and procedures.
  • Assist in evaluating products or tools to determine compatibility with client's requirements and in making acquisition recommendations.
  • Create ABAP solutions based on design document requirements, including workflow and PI / CPI for interfaces.
  • Engage deeply and creatively to solve complex problems and contribute to the success of the team.

 

Essential Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Technical, Business, or Information Systems.
  • Certifications in SAP, ABAP, S4 Hana
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on ABAP development experience in SAP.
  • Experience and exposure to the SAP S4 Hana / FI / CO.
  • Excellent communication and written skills with the ability to work effectively with others
  • Strong technical skills in SAP Integration technologies (e.g. SAP PI/PO, SAP Cloud Platform Integration , SAP API Management)
  • Ability to analyze existing ABAP code / programs to detect areas of potential improvements or efficiencies
  • Ability to create ABAP solutions based on design document requirements including workflow and PI/ CPI
  • Ability to design and implement solutions based on user needs
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Ability to function effectively in both individual and team capacity and meet required timelines
  • Ability to effectively create and interpret technical writing and documentation


Assets (Nonessential):

 

  • Previous experience with SAP Concur is an asset
  • Previous exposure / experience with SAP Fiori is an asset
  • Familiarity with integration patterns and best practices for implementing asynchronous and synchronous communication, message transformation, error handling and data mapping
  • Basic understanding of accounting and accounting principals
