Your opportunity:

Our team of high-performing advancement professionals is committed to robust and ambitious philanthropic and alumni engagement goals in support of the Faulty of Law. Reporting to the Assistant Dean, Advancement, you will proactively cultivate, solicit and steward a major gift ($25,000+) portfolio on behalf of the Faculty and contribute to the strategic planning process to develop programs and initiatives that deepen donor engagement and support. The active involvement of faculty members, senior volunteers and the University community is essential to the overall success of our program.


Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Assessing needs and contributing to the development and implementation of plans for prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and recognition
  • Determining the appropriate involvement of members of the university community and volunteers in the cultivation, solicitation and recognition process
  • Developing tailored fundraising initiatives that support strategic initiatives
  • Identifying, evaluating and recommending the necessary steps to bring the prospect closer to making a major financial commitment tothe University
  • Analyzing the impact of stewardship programming on fundraising initiatives
  • Meeting face-to-face with current and potential donors to discuss giving interests and opportunities
  • Developing and implementing plans to support donor management and stewardship strategies and/or activities
  • Producing complex donor reports

 

Essential Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a staff fundraising role with proven track record of success in managing a robust pool of major gift donors and prospective donors.
  • Demonstrated experience in major gift fundraising (the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors and prospective donors at $25,000 and above).
  • Proven ability to motivate high-net-worth prospective donors and volunteer; ability to motivate alumni, faculty members, and colleagues.
  • Experience working with and guiding senior – level volunteers and academic leaders.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) and database software
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Clear evidence of leadership and initiative, tact/diplomacy, sound judgement and decision making in complex environments with competing priorities.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment
  • Effective team player who values collaboration
