Information Technology Services is responsible for all computing hardware, operations, network infrastructure, and systems to support and enhance the School's core mission. Rotman students, faculty, and staff use up-to-date technologies to directly enhance learning, teaching, and research.

 

IT Services is divided into four functional groups: Salesforce and Technical Support Services, Network and Systems Administration, Portal/Web/Systems Development, and Multi-Media Support Services. All groups work together to deliver efficient, adaptable, and reliable IT services.

 

As the Senior Network and System Administrator, you will be responsible for configuration and provisioning of both physical servers as well as Virtual servers, installation and maintenance of network devices & firewalls. Monitoring the performance and integrity of servers, NAS/SAN and network devices. Troubleshooting issues with network connectivity, access to public facing web servers. Responding to DoS or DDoS attacks, and other types of cyber attacks, in conjunction with both internal resources and those within the enterprise cyber security team. Developing and editing standard operating procedures for IT services. Creating complex technical documentation and user guides. Executing security measures for network devices and ensuring all servers are up to date with regards to OS patches and/or Driver patches. Manage the network print facilities, access management leveraging Enterprise Active Directory. Developing project schedules for deployment of new devices, and/or upgrades/replacement of existing devices. Acting as the primary technical liaison for security incidents with our partners within the University.  Managing our security solutions for both our server and desktop/laptop fleet. Providing detailed analysis and recommendations on the acquisition of new network, server and storage systems. Serving as a resource on specific technical issues to a group of specialists.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Developing, programming and installing network systems
  • Monitoring the performance and integrity of servers; troubleshooting server and end user system issues; troubleshooting network issues
  • Reviewing daily security reports; executing security measures for network devices and introducing variations as required
  • Handling sensitive and/or confidential information
  • Developing project schedules, inclusive of milestones, critical paths and timelines for deliverables
  • Providing orientation to others on work procedures and practices
  • Managing the OU within the University's EAD and writing appropriate GPO's
  • Managing our Intune environment for software deployments; managing our VM servers within the University's private cloud; managing our Back-up and testing the backup as per agreed to testing intervals
  • Responding to ciber security incidents, ssuch as DoS, DDoS, Malware, Ransomware, etc.

 

Essential Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum five (5) years experience administering Windows based servers/laptops and desktops
  • Minimum three (3) years experience managing EAD
  • Minimum five (5) years experience managing data and VoIP networks
  • Minimum three (3) years experience using SCCM
  • Minimum four (4) years experience administering Network switches, Routers and firewalls


Assets (Nonessential):

 

  • Familiarity with ServiceNow
  • Experience with SentinelOne Security Platform
  • Familiarity with HP/Aruba network devices
  • Familiarity with Veritas backup solutions
  • Familiarity with Microsoft InTune
