Your opportunity:
The Faculty of Dentistry's Department of Continuing Dental Education (CDE) is responsible for the development and delivery of continuing education programs for dentists and dental professionals. The CDE Department delivers these programs using a combination of face to face (F2F), online, hybrid, and hybrid-flexible (HyFlex) methods. It also delivers programs for internationally trained dentists and is pursuing other international relationships. The Department also operates remedial courses for dentists who are required by the regulatory body to upgrade skills in defined areas. The incumbent will provide operations & project management for all of these activities. The incumbent will supervise full time and part time administrative staff associated with the administration, preparation and execution of all of these programs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the delivery of programs and/or workshops
- Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming
- Researching and recommendingnew opportunities for external collaborations and partnerships
- Developing and maintaining relationships with contacts whose cooperation is important to the University
- Liaising with contacts to facilitate and initiate outreach opportunities
- Implementing program improvements and maintenance of program standards
- Producing promotional and outreach materials
- Directing the activities of a group of staff-appointed employees all performing a similar function
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum five years of related experience coordinating programs in continuing education, higher education, or a closely-related field.
- Experience with bookkeeping and budgeting.
- Excellent computer knowledge using MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and various databases including MS Access.
- Experience in the design and proofreading of advertising materials, and ability to produce promotional and marketing materials.
- Superior organizational and interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, initiative and ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Demonstrated project management and program coordination skills.
- Tact, diplomacy and integrity, public relations skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage a variety of demands at the same time.
- Strong collaborative and relationship building skills.
- Ability to supervise and provide direction to administrative and part-time staff.
- Willingness to work occasional weekend shifts.
Assets (Nonessential):
- Continuing Dental Education experience would be preferred
- Experience working with portals would be preferred

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:
USW Pay Band 13 -- $84,813. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $108,463. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
