Your opportunity:

This is a very exciting time for Property Management at the University. As the principal contact for clients service needs across the campus, the group has recently undertaken an organizational review and identified areas of improvement to create a best-in-class client experience. This position was created to support a high performance team culture, foster staff development, and ensure a seamless client experience. Reporting to the Manager, Property Management the incumbent will be one of two Senior Property Managers, each with a team of Property Managers. Every building on the St. George campus has a designated Property Manager, and it is their responsibility to ensure University buildings are kept in a state of good repair, general maintenance, and renovations on campus.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Selecting appropriate contractors and consultants based on work required
  • Coordinating and communicating work being performed on facilities to minimize to minimize disruptions to daily operations
  • Leading renovation projects with varying degrees of complexity
  • Facilitating focus group meetings with clients to determine needs
  • Directing the activities of a group of staff-appointed employees all performing a similar function

 

Essential Qualifications:

 

  • Advanced College Diploma in property or facilities management, preferably with certification ofIMFA/BOMA/IREM or as a CET, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years’ comparable experience overseeing the work of others in a property management,facilities management or construction environment. Experience in competitive procurement, contractadministration, building science and systems, cost estimates is required. Knowledge of and/or experience withOccupational Health & Safety regulations, Ontario Building Code and Fire Codes required.
  • Excellent oral and writtencommunication skills with highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Skill in using a web-based service management system; Knowledge of SAP an asset
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills, including the ability to train and motivate staff; Demonstrated strongcommitment to cutomer service; Excellent organizational and planning skills, Ability to manage conflictingpriorities and deadlines; Ability to exercise patience, tact, diplomacy and discretion; Demonstrated ability towork independently and effectively in a consultative team environment; Analytical ability and budgetmanagement skills; Demonstrates strong initiative, and drive

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone: USW Pay Band 18 -- $114,486. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $146,408. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
