URD1516H1S – Selected Topics in Urban Design

Description:
This course will provide students with opportunities to study and carry out research on a contemporary subject within urban design. Instructor is encouraged to foreground forms of representation as a medium and/or tools of engagement in assignments.

Sessional Lecturer II Long Term: $10,760.28
Sessional Lecturer III: $10,760.28
Sessional Lecturer III Long Term: $11,030.36

Minimum Qualifications:
MArch with a MUD or MSc in Urban Planning degree and professional urban design experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

Applicants with a proven record of scholarship and/or teaching urban design and at the graduate level and knowledge of contemporary urban design issues.

Duties:
Preparation and delivery of course material; managing digital teaching materials; preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, final examinations and deferred final examinations; marking of student work, submission of grades, dealing with student enquiries, appeals and petitions and student contact hours.

Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.
