Description:
In this course students will develop spatial skills relating two and three dimensional problems of design and developing sophisticated spatial strategies from elementary exercises. Students will be asked to turn abstract design questions into architectural environments. Finally students will be introduced to the interaction between primary structural principals and form. The studio will introduce simple building programs and site relationships.

Salary (0.5 FCE):
$9,820.70 for Sessional Lecturer I ($10,510.04 for SLI Long Term);
$10,510.04 for Sessional Lecturer II ($10,760.28 for SLII Long Term);
$10,760.28 for Sessional Lecturer III ($11,030.36 for SLIII Long Term), inclusive of vacation pay

Minimum Qualifications: M.Arch degree or other Graduate degree in Architecture preferred. We are seeking applicants with a proven record of teaching foundation design studios at the M.Arch and/or B.A/B.Arch level.
Preferred qualifications: Knowledge of contemporary architectural pedagogy and the current state of the discipline, at both practical and theoretical levels, is highly desirable.
Description of duties: Attending meetings required by studio coordinator; preparation and delivery of course material; managing digital teaching materials, supervision of teaching assistants; preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, final examinations and deferred final examinations; marking of student work, submission of grades, dealing with student enquiries, appeals and petitions and student contact hours.
