Course Description:
Building Science 3 is the third of four Master of Architecture Building Science Core Courses. This course introduces students to key environmental systems in architecture, including heating, cooling, ventilation, daylighting, acoustics, and energy use. Students will explore how these systems shape spatial and economic design decisions and learn basic methods for analyzing environmental performance. Emphasis is placed on understanding system integration and using environmental metrics to guide design strategies that enhance user comfort and sustainability. The applicant will assist a primary Building Science course instructor who as developed the course assignments and curriculum.

Minimum Qualifications: M.Arch degree or other Graduate degree in Architecture or Building Science preferred. We are seeking applicants with a proven record of teaching Building Science and its applications in Architectural design. The candidate will need to evaluate, consult, and advise students in a lab setting on assignments based on Building Systems Detailing and Design.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of contemporary architectural pedagogy and the current state of the discipline, at both practical and theoretical levels, is highly desirable.
Description of Duties: Attending meetings required by studio coordinator; Preparation and delivery of course material; managing digital teaching materials, supervision of teaching assistants; preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, final examinations and deferred final examinations; marking of student work, submission of grades, dealing with student enquiries, appeals and petitions and student contact hours.
