Description:
This course focuses on how students can acquire knowledge and abilities to think and act entrepreneurially to continually innovate in activities carried out in established health industries. Established health industries must constantly expand and diversify their entrepreneurial activities to sustain their existence by creating new services for their customers. This course equips students with the entrepreneurial mindset and innovation skills within established health organizations. It covers building supportive work environments, sustaining entrepreneurial performance, and overcoming innovation challenges. Students will explore innovation from multiple perspectives and gain frameworks for driving entrepreneurial initiatives while developing a network of peers to exchange ideas and insights.
The University of Toronto instructor will be co-facilitating the course with their KNUST counterpart. Partnering University: Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana.

Class schedule: Virtual 3-hour seminar-style sessions; occurring from 9:00 AM – 12:00 AM EST Every Monday, May 5th, 2025 – July 14th, 2025.

Sessional Lecturer I - $9,647.06
Sessional Lecturer I – Long Term - $10,324.20
Sessional Lecturer II - $10,324.20
Sessional Lecturer II – Long Term - $10,570.02
Sessional Lecturer III - $10,570.02
Sessional Lecturer III – Long Term - $10,835.32

Minimum qualifications: Master’s Degree or higher in Health Sciences or a related field.
Preferred qualifications: Previous experience in teaching, industry leadership roles in a healthcare organizations, proven track record of entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial initiatives, strong project management ability, mentorship of startups, business planning strategic collaboration and new health venture creation.
Description of duties: The instructor will be responsible for achieving the course objectives: Equip students with strategies to understand entrepreneurial behaviour in organizational operations. Provide foundation and practical insights into entrepreneurship and innovation through hands-on activities. Support skill advancement in identifying opportunities for innovation within health ventures and organizations while recognizing the responsibilities of an entrepreneur when moving from idea to opportunity to implementation.
The instructor will be responsible for designing class and take-home activities, creating the midterm, and contributing to the final examination.
