Description:
This course is designed to help students understand the policies, regulatory, and institutional environments in the health ecosystem and their implications for health services management. Emphasis will be placed on training students to appreciate the policy environment associated with global public health issues and how this informs venture creation in the health sector. The course will also develop students' ability to undertake health policy research and analysis to guide entrepreneurial decisions and practices
The University of Toronto instructor will be co-facilitating the course with their KNUST counterpart. Partnering University: Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana.

Class schedule: Virtual 3-hour seminar-style sessions; occurring from 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM EST between Monday, March 17th, 2025 – Friday, March 28th, 2025.

Minimum qualifications: Master’s Degree or higher in Health Sciences, Public Health Policy, or a related field
Preferred qualifications: Previous experience in teaching, project management, public health policy, government relations, translational research, and student evaluation.
Description of duties: The instructor will be responsible for achieving the course objectives: broadening students' understanding of the dynamics of health reforms and their effects on health business, the governance of healthcare, the processes and stages of agenda setting, health policy creation and policy implementation.
The instructor will be responsible for designing class activities and take-home activities, creating the mid-term and contributing to the final examination.
