Course description:
This course addresses the arrangements for governance in higher education. It examines formal models and theories of governance; the legal and institutional framework of higher education governance; the role and characteristics of higher education intermediary bodies, governing boards, and academic senates and their relationships to one another; and current challenges and issues pertaining to university and community college governance.

Sessional dates of appointment: January 1, 2025 to April 30, 2025

Sessional Lecturer I: $9,182.42
Sessional Lecturer I Long Term: $9,641.55
Sessional Lecturer II: $9,826.96
Sessional Lecturer II Long Term: $10,025.84
Sessional Lecturer III: $10,060.93
Sessional Lecturer III Long Term: $10,262.15
Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.
Minimum qualifications:
Candidates must hold a doctorate in Higher Education or a related field; have a demonstrated record of scholarship in the field of Higher Education and the subject area of the course; have practical experience related to the topic of the course; and have successful graduate teaching experience in the subject area of the course and a successful track record of teaching online, preferably using Canvas/Quercus.

Prepare, organize, and lead this graduate half course; be available to students seeking assistance between classes; and evaluate student work and provide students with feedback.
