MGID79H3 - International Capstone Case Analysis - Fall 2025

This course focuses on critical thinking and problem solving skills through analyzing, researching and writing comprehensive business cases, and is offered in the final semester of the MIB specialist program. It is designed to provide students the opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired from each major area of management studies to international real-world situations.

The following positions for a Sessional Lecturer are available in the Department of Management for the Fall 2025 academic session. This posting is in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Governing Council of the University of Toronto and the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 3902 Unit 3.

Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12.
In considering qualified applicants, teaching excellence, currency in and mastery of subject area; previous experience in teaching a similar course at undergraduate (university) level or similar environment; several years related professional experience shall be the criteria used in the selection of the most qualified candidate in accordance with Article 14:12.

The Exam period is as follows:
Friday, December 5, 2025 to Saturday, December 20, 2025

Please note: All positions involve completion of all course grading. You must be available throughout the exam period as exams are scheduled centrally and individual preferences for exam times/dates cannot always be accommodated.

Minimum Qualifications
Completion of a relevant professional or graduate degree; demonstrated teaching excellence; currency in and mastery of the subject area; at least three years of experience in a private-sector role dealing with business issues; previous experience in teaching a similar course at undergraduate (university) level.


Preferred Qualifications
(In addition to the minimum) Several years of related professional experience and/or previous experience teaching a related course at UTSC with consistent, strong course evaluations.


Duties
All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration, and marking of assignments, tests, and exams; calculation and submission of grades, holding regular office hours and maintaining reasonable availability for student and administrative contact, supervision of T.A. assigned to course. Additionally, there is an expectation to teach experientially with role plays, games, and simulations, and cases and to conduct debriefing on these role plays by integrating theory and research in the field while doing so. Instructors may also be expected to have a work-integrated learning project as a group or individual project for students (with staff support).

Salary for a half-course (0.50 FCEs) inclusive of vacation pay: The Sessional Lecturer I rate of pay will be $9,820.70. Sessional Lecturer I-Long Term rate of pay will be $10,510.04. Sessional Lecturer II rate of pay will be $10,510.04. Sessional Lecturer II-Long Term rate of pay will be $10,760.28. Sessional Lecturer III rate of pay will be $10,760.28. Sessional Lecturer III-Long Term rate of pay will be $11,030.36.
