Course Number and Title: PHL347H1S Modal Logic and Philosophical Applications of Logic
Course Description: Formal study of the concepts of necessity and possibility, modal, propositional and quantificational logic, possible-worlds semantics, and the metaphysics of modality. Other topics may include counterfactuals, truth, vagueness, epistemic logic, temporal logic, or non-classical logic.

Salary (includes vacation pay): $9,457.89 Sessional Lecturer I; $9,930.79 Sessional Lecturer I Long Term; $10,121.77 Sessional Lecturer II; $10,326.62 Sessional Lecture II Long Term; $10,362.76 Sessional Lecturer III; $10,570.02 Sessional Lecturer III Long Term.
Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in philosophy (or related); strong academic record and professional promise; ongoing research and scholarly publications in the field; relevant and recent teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants who have clearly demonstrated teaching excellence in the subject matter.
Description of Duties: All normal duties related to the design and teaching of an online-synchronous university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments; calculation and submission of grades and holding office hours.
