Course description: Experimental evidence for theories of how humans produce and understand language, and of how language is represented in the mind. Topics include speech perception, word retrieval, use of grammar in comprehension and production, discourse comprehension, and the role of memory systems in language processing.

Salary: In accordance with the current CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement, the stipend rate for a half course (Y, F or S), inclusive of vacation pay, will be:
Sessional Lecturer I: $9,457.90
Sessional Lecturer I – Long Term: $9,930.79
Sessional Lecturer II: $10,121.77
Sessional Lecturer III: $10,362.76
Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Linguistics, Psychology or a related field with a focus on language acquisition, language processing, language production. Strong academic record and professional promise. Teaching experience in upper-level courses desired.
Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience in PLIC55 or a comparable course in psycholinguistics.
Duties: All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours. This course will take place in-person at UTSC during the Winter term (Jan - Apr). All positions involve the completion of all course grading.
