Course number and title: PPG201H1F – Microeconomics for Engineers
Course description: An introduction to microeconomics, for application in public policy analysis. Designed specifically for students with training in calculus and linear algebra, and who are pursuing a certificate in public policy, the course will explore preference and choice, classical demand theory and the utility maximization problem as well as expenditure minimization problem, welfare evaluation of economic changes, regression analysis and ordinary least squares.

Sessional Lecturer I: $9,820.70
Sessional Lecturer I - Long term: $10,510.04
Sessional Lecturer II: $10,510.04
Sessional Lecturer II- Long term: $10,760.28
Sessional Lecturer III: $10,760.28
Sessional Lecturer III- Long term: $11,030.36
Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.
Minimum Qualifications: PhD in Economics with a proven record of teaching economics to undergraduate students.
Preferred Qualifications: Speciality in development economics, digital economics, and gender economics. Previous teaching experience at the University of Toronto an asset.
Description of duties: Developing course syllabus; teaching one 2-hour lecture per week at the undergraduate level; providing weekly office hours for academic counseling of students; preparing and delivering course materials; preparing and delivering assignments and tests; marking student work and submitting grades.
