Sessional Lecturer - SDS199H1F - Sexuality at the Intersections

Description:

This First-Year Foundations seminar will explore sexuality at the intersections of race, gender, class, disability, citizenship status, and geography, among other social relations and processes as a foundational practice in Sexual Diversity Studies. In an intimate seminar setting, students will develop reading, writing, and presentation skills necessary for engaging in Sexual Diversity Studies across a wide array of disciplinary traditions.

Class Schedule:                                          Mondays, 12:00 pm-2:00pm

Dates of Appointment:                               September 1, 2025 – December 31, 2025


Salary (0.5 FCE): $9,820.70 for Sessional Lecturer I ($10,510.04 for SLI Long Term); $10,510.04 for Sessional Lecturer II ($10,760.28 for SLII Long Term); $10,760.28 for Sessional Lecturer III ($11,030.36 for SLIII Long Term), inclusive of vacation pay

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in sexuality studies, LGBTQ+ studies, or related field.

 

Preferred qualifications: Doctorate degree in sexuality studies, LGBTQ+ studies, or related field. Experience teaching in a university environment.

 

Description of duties: All duties associated with teaching an undergraduate course, including preparing the course outline, syllabus, and lectures; delivering lectures; developing, marking and administering course assignments, tests & exams; calculation and timely submission of grades; conducting scheduled office hours for academic counselling of students.
