Experiences of queer youth are explored in various education settings through academic research, personal essays, and visual and performing arts to investigate how queer youth define themselves, what they are learning, the curriculum and pedagogy used in the learning process and the possibilities of said learning for social change, individual and community well-being

Dates of Appointment:                               September 1, 2025 – December 31, 2025

Salary (0.5 FCE): $9,820.70 for Sessional Lecturer I ($10,510.04 for SLI Long Term); $10,510.04 for Sessional Lecturer II ($10,760.28 for SLII Long Term); $10,760.28 for Sessional Lecturer III ($11,030.36 for SLIII Long Term), inclusive of vacation pay

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in education, LGBTQ+ studies, sexuality studies, or related field.

 

Preferred qualifications: 

Doctorate degree in education, child and youth studies, LGBTQ+ studies, sexuality studies, or related field. Experience teaching in a university environment. Relevant background in LGBTQ+ studies and familiarity with LGBTQ+ issues.

 

Description of duties: All duties associated with teaching an undergraduate course, including preparing the course outline, syllabus, and lectures; delivering lectures; developing, marking and administering course assignments, tests & exams; calculation and timely submission of grades; conducting scheduled office hours for academic counselling of students.
