Description:
A service-learning course with student placements in various LGBT community organizations alongside regular classroom seminars to look at the politics of engagement, active citizenship, mobilization, archiving community histories, accessibility, belonging, activism, and philanthropy. Only students in the specialist or major programs in Sexuality Diversity Studies can enrol in this course.

Class Schedule: Wednesdays, 12:00pm-2:00pm
Dates of Appointment: September 1, 2025 – April 30, 2026
Salary (0.5 FCE): $9,820.70 for Sessional Lecturer I ($10,510.04 for SLI Long Term); $10,510.04 for Sessional Lecturer II ($10,760.28 for SLII Long Term); $10,760.28 for Sessional Lecturer III ($11,030.36 for SLIII Long Term), inclusive of vacation pay

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in sexuality studies, LGBTQ+ studies, or related field
Preferred qualifications: : Doctorate degree in sexuality studies, LGBTQ+ studies, or related field. Experience teaching in a university environment.
Description of duties: All duties associated with teaching an undergraduate course, including preparing the course outline, syllabus, and lectures; delivering lectures; developing, marking and administering course assignments, tests & exams; calculation and timely submission of grades; conducting scheduled office hours for academic counselling of students.
